Though rather simplistic for what I expected of death metal music, The Pursuit Of Vikings by Amon Amarth from their Fate Of Norns album in 2004 was catchy to me and something I liked warming up my voice to. I felt that I needed something on the album where my voice would be at its most monstrous, and this was the answer. It also served as a replacement for Rise Against's Survive that I tried to cover but found too complex and time-consuming to complete.

It was also a fitting time to cover a song such as this when I had gotten into the Vikings TV series starring Travis Fimmel, and when Zombie Crash had begun writing a song called Raid For Trade based on that same influence.
